waoh!! underwear (bra and pant ) that goes for £500,000)

The flashy two-piece is made of 3 kilograms of the precious metal - and would set you back more than half a million

pounds. But unfortunately for wealthy fashionistas, the underwear set has been produced as a work of art and is not for sale. Today, a model showed off the dazzling lingerie (left) at a gold shop in Wuhan in central China's Hubei province. She was joined by two other models (one of whom is pictured right), whom posed with glittering gold accessories, including necklaces, a shoe and a rabbit.

can you buy this??

Heartbreaking letter written by a 12-year-old before dying

Heartbreaking letter written by a 12-year-old girl to her future self found by parents after she dies of pneumonia

Sometimes sources of comfort can come from the most unexpected places. At least that’s been the case for a grieving mom and dad in Tennessee whose 12-year-old daughter died of pneumonia on Jan. 5. Just days after Taylor Smith’s death, her parents found a sealed envelope containing a letter Taylor had written to her 22-year-old self — and its sunny, wise-beyond-her-years prose appears to be a consolation to her parents.

x

Dear Taylor: The letter was written by the 12-year-old in April last year

Taylor Scout Smith, 12, died of pneumonia Sunday in Tennessee

Heartbroken: Taylor leaves behind an older brother and her parents.

may her soul rest in peace!!

NIGERIA: APC targets 12 million members

(photo):Interim National Chairman, All Progressive Congress, Chief Bisi Akande

The All Progressives Congress has said it hopes to register at least 12 million members during its nationwide membership registration, which will commence on January 28.

In a telephone interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Lai Mohammed, said the membership registration would last for about five days and would be held at over 120, 000 polling units across the country.

He said, “The membership registration starts on January 28 and it will run for about five days. It will be happening simultaneously across the nation and will be done at the level of the polling units. You know the maximum number of votes at a polling unit is 500. But the people that vote are not all party members. Therefore, if a political party registers up to 100 or 200 people at a polling unit; it is remarkable. There are over 120, 000 polling units in the country. From what we have, we expect to register at least 12 million members.”

Mohammed said the party decided to do the registration at the polling units to reduce cost of transportation and other logistics.

He added that the party had made provisions for all the materials needed for the registration at the polling units.

APC had set up committees to handle the registration of its members in each state of the federation.

Members of the committee were drawn from the national secretariat, the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party in each state as well as the governors, who are members of the party.

The PUNCH had reported that the APC National Secretariat would name two members, the chairmen of the defunct ACN, ANPP and CPC as well as state governors belonging to the party, as part of the committee.

It was also gathered that the caretaker committees would be inaugurated two weeks before the commencement of the registration.

After it was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, last year, APC had commenced a membership drive across the country, which resulted, partly, in the defection of some members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to it.

The membership registration is expected to put figures to the strength of the new party in the six geopolitical zones of the country.

NEW DISCOVERY FROM MIT STUDENTS

A lubricant called LiquiGlide, developed initially at MIT, is the potential savior for all those frustrated by bottles of ketchup, shampoo, lotion, and everything else where there's always something left behind.

It's always hard to get the last bit of sorbet out of the bottle. You leave it upside down, hoping that the soap will all come out smoothly during the next shower. Then the plastic seems to crinkle a little too much. Then you squeeze and still there's soap left over.

This has been going on ever since the days of glass bottles of ketchup and mayo. What this problem clearly needed was some large heads at MIT.

Thankfully, the egg-headers finally got onto it and created LiquiGlide. Initially, they focused on getting the ketchup out. Now Dave Smith, the clever man behind the idea, has left MIT and turned LiquiGlide into a company that will ease your frustrations more powerfully than Diazepam.

Surely you, too, have tried to pump away at a soap or toothpaste receptacle and somehow the pump never quite manages either to work or to get the final amounts of liquid up to the top.

The LiquidGlide coating has to be manipulated, depending on the substance inside the container and the substance from which the container is made.

However, given that all its ingredients are reportedly FDA approved, the range of its potential uses -- both consumer and industrial -- seems limitless.

I know you'll tell me Heinz has made upside-down bottles that now make it easier to get the ketchup out. But even with those I find myself shaking out the last drops. And I have to unscrew the top, too.

Shaking a bottle like a demented craps player shaking the dice just isn't a good look, is it? Even if you smell like Keira Knightley.

Former Israeli PM, Sharon, dies at 85

Former Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, died on Saturday at the age of 85, after spending eight years in coma following a stroke.

Sharon was a giant of the Israeli military and political scene, but courted controversy throughout his long career.

Head of the Sheba Medical Centre, near Tel Aviv, said Sharon died on Saturday afternoon of heart failure.

Sharon’s health had declined for the past week and a half, he said

He fought in Israeli war of independence in 1948, and from that point until he slipped into a coma in 2006, it seemed there was hardly a moment of national drama in which he did not play a role.

Sharon was always a controversial figure in Israeli politics, certainly not universally loved.

But, in mourning his passing, Israelis are marking the loss of one of the few public figures left whose career stretched back to the earliest days of their state.

Sharon, who became PM in 2001, was suffering from a malfunction of several organs, including the kidneys, doctors said on Thursday.

His health was showing signs of “a slow and gradual deterioration” and his life was in danger, they added.

Sharon had been in a persistent vegetative state since a stroke in 2006.

As Prime Minister, Sharon presided over some of the most turbulent times in Israeli-Palestinian history, a Palestinian uprising that erupted in 2000 and an Israeli military crackdown after peace talks collapsed.

To many Israelis, Sharon was a heroic warrior, having led decisive campaigns in the 1967 and 1973 wars.

In a tribute, incumbent Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said: “His memory will live forever in the nation’s heart”, his spokesman said on Twitter.
