Four die in Ogun accident
Four persons died in two separate auto crashes in Ogun State. Others were also critically injured in the two accidents.
The first accident that occurred on Sunday, involved members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jammat who were returning to Abeokuta from Ilaro at the end of their three-day annual congress.
Our correspondent learnt that the accident happened after a rear tyres of the passenger bus conveying them burst.
One of the injured persons told our correspondent at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, that the accident occurred shortly after the bus passed Ibese town. He explained that the vehicle somersaulted three times, killing the driver on the spot.
In the other crash at the Ikereku area of Abeokuta on Saturday, two persons were crushed to death, while four others were wounded when a truck rammed into them.
The truck, marked, LAGOS, AKD 443 XA, was allegedly driven by an underage driver who was said to have lost control.
While attempting to escape from the scene, the driver allegedly ran over two commercial motorcyclists at the Ikereku area.
While the truck killed the two cyclists on the spot, one of the passengers they were carrying was injured.
Both the driver of the truck and his vehicle are still being detained at the Adatan Police Stattion.
