A baby calf is being hailed a 'blessing' after being born with two heads and surviving.

The little heifer was one of eight calves born on a farm in Whiting, Vermont, on Tuesday.

A vet has determined the cute cow is perfectly healthy, explaining that she was supposed to be a twin but the egg did not separate properly.

The calf is known as polycephalic, which means having more than one head. A vet has explained that the little one was supposed to be a twin but the egg didn't separate properly

'Just like with humans we have some abnormalities with animals and animal births and this just happened to be one of them.'

Because the calf only has one brain, each head mimics the other.

So when she is feeding, her other side is sucking too.

More than 500 million tweets are posted every day and revenues tripled to £200 million
If it is valued at £7 billion it would be bigger than easyJet

Twitter is expected to be valued at £7billion when its shares are offered on Wall Street before the end of the year.

Launched in 2006, it has gone from a simple messaging site to a forum where everybody from world leaders to celebrities can write to hundreds of thousands of followers at once.

More than 500 million tweets are posted every day, but documents sent to the US market regulator ahead of the flotation reveal that it has never made a profit.

Revenues tripled to almost £200million last year but it still lost £50million. Twitter said it expected to go into the black by the end of next year.

A £7 billion listing would make it bigger in value than companies such as Morrisons and EasyJet.

In excess of 300 billion tweets have been sent since the service, which allows users to publish notes of 140 characters or fewer instantly, launched.

More than 250 million people use the site every month - with 100 million posting something every day.

Despite being free to use, the company is able to rake in millions of pounds selling advertising.

Last year its revenues tripled to almost £200million. But despite the increase it still made a loss of £50million.

Invitro Fertilised (IVF) babies are prone to Cancer- Study

Children born as a result of IVF are a third more likely to get cancer, a major study found.

Scientists said those born after fertility treatments were 33 per cent more likely to have childhood cancer.

They were 65 per cent more likely to develop leukaemia and 88 per cent more likely to develop cancers of the brain and central nervous system.

The study suggests fertility treatment may change the way certain genes function when they are passed from parent to child in a process known as ‘genomic imprinting’.

These faults in genes are linked to childhood cancers, the Danish researchers said.

They warned these changes could be triggered by aspects of fertility treatment such as exposure to hormones, semen preparation, freezing embryos, growth conditions of embryos or delayed insemination.

But they could not rule out the chance that the increased risk was the result of parents’ infertility, not the treatment.

Earlier this year, British research on more than 100,000 children born after fertility treatment found they had no increased risk of cancer.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is among the most widely used fertility techniques, with around 18,000 IVF babies born in Britain each year.

The study suggests fertility treatment may change the way certain genes function when they are passed from parent to child in a process known as 'genomic imprinting'

An egg is removed from the woman’s ovaries and fertilised with sperm, then returned to the womb to grow.

The research, in the journal Fertility and Sterility, reviewed 25 studies from 12 developed countries, including the US, the UK, Denmark, France and Israel, from 1990 to 2010.

‘The etiology [origin] of childhood cancer is still largely unknown, but it has been hypothesized that fertility treatment may play a role.’

#SHOCKED# Another plane crash averted.......400 passengers almost died!!!

400 passengers escape death as jet makes emergency landing in Sokoto after tyres explode mid-air

Another plane crash was averted this morning in Sokoko when a Saudi bound Kabo Air plane carrying 400 passengers from Kano made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar III international Airport when its tyres exploded immediately after take off.

The Boeing 747 jumbo jet, left Kano on Friday en route Saudi Arabia but had to divert to Sokoto when the incident happened.


It was gathered that all the passengers aboard the airline had been successfully evacuated from the plane and lodged in a hotel in the state.

This is coming barely 72 hours after an Embraer aircraft belonging to Associated Airlines with registration number, 5N-BIT crashed in Lagos shortly after take-off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

The 30-seater aircraft had 20 passengers on board including seven crew members on board and the remains of former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu crashed about 9:30am, killing 13.

Collapsed building at Bayelsa University....#no casualty!!

     

An uncompleted lecture hall collapsed at Niger Delta University, which is owned by the Bayelsa State government, collapsed on Friday, but there were no human casualties, several sources said. “The collapsed building however injured one construction worker who is in the danger list at a hospital,” one source revealed.

Several sources told SaharaReporters that some 50 people who usually squat in the uncompleted building were lucky that none of them got killed in the collapse.

Some sources blamed Governor Seriake Dickson for retaining quack contractors who use substandard construction material. One worker said the site engineer was notorious for cutting corners with materials as well as compromising on standardized building code.

“The motives of the site engineer are questionable,” said a worker. “He keeps flouting standard formulae for mixing concrete. He uses more sand than chippings. And, in mixing cement and sand, he is known to compromise quality.”

Another critic said it was no surprise that the building went down. “Thank God it happened during the day when most of the people who sleep in the building at night were out,” another construction worker told SaharaReporters.

The Bayelsa branch of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) weighed in, ascribing the collapse to the use of quacks on the project. The NIA’s chairperson, Stella Rain, led a team of architectural experts to assess the building. Ms. Rain stated that the group intends to conduct a detailed investigation into the collapsed building.

Professor Humphrey Okonjo, the university’s vice chancellor, said that the defects in the building were detected by the university’s project monitoring unit, but lamented that the problems could not be fixed due to the uncooperative attitude of some Bayelsa government officials.
