WOW!! Pair of jeans made from recycled water bottles

A good pair of jeans should be treasured. You know, that pair that fits perfectly, time-worn to fit comfortably while still looking good. The pair you’ll wear long after they develop holes in both knees, just because you love them so much. Unfortunately, most denim brands use resource-intensive processes that utilize a lot of nasty chemicals, putting workers and the planet at risk.

The Green Jean from Dirtball Fashion isn’t one of those brands. The focus of a newly-launched Kickstarter campaign, these eco-friendly pants are made from recycled water bottles and cotton grown right here in the US of A. In fact, there’s not a single element of these jeans that is made on foreign soil–a big victory considering how unfair the fashion industry can be to workers from other countries.

Dirtball specializes in American-Made Recycled Apparel for men and boys, but up until now, they’ve mainly focused on easy stuff like t-shirts and socks. The Green Jean will be their first foray into the crowded denim industry, but if anyone can take the eco-guilt out of blue jeans, it’s them.

Billed as both “comfortable” and “creative”, Green Jeans are made from cotton and anywhere from 8-10 recycled water bottles which have been repurposed to create a high-quality cotton and polyester denim. According to the company, they are the only jeans on the market that are both sustainably produced and completely made-in-the-USA.

The jeans are available in four styles, Regular, Rigid, Khaki, and Enzymed. Unfortunately, they’re available in men’s classic comfort fit cut only. Sorry ladies (unless you prefer a boy cut). Get one of the first pairs to roll off the line by pledging at least $85 to the Kickstarter campaign.
