Stoke City has offered £4million bid for the Nigerian internationalStoke City could well make a £4million bid for Osaze Odemwingie as Everton have rejected an offer for compatriot Victor Anichebe.
A flurry of transactions is expected before the transfer window closes on Monday night and already Everton have turned down West Brom’s £3.5million bid for Nigeria international Anichebe.
The Beijing 2008 Olympics silver medallist was linked with a move to Hull City this summer and he is valued at £5 million.
He had scored 18 goals in 131 games for the toffees.
Fellow Nigeria international Osaze, on the other hand, has been frozen out by ‘The Baggies’ since he tried to force a move to Queens Park Rangers in January and was subsequently punished for his indiscipline.
The 32-year-old is still highly rated in the Premier League though, and newly-promoted sides Hull City and Crystal Palace have been keen to sign him this summer, as well as Swansea City.
However, now according to the Daily Mail it seems that Stoke are ready to step up their interest in him, as new manager Mark Hughes seeks to add more quality to his side upfront, with Peter Crouch currently on a poor run of goal scoring form.
Hughes is cautious about Osaze’s recent disciplinary problems, but has decided to push this late move through.
