Refugee Situation Worsens in Nasarawa

The refugee situation that follows the aftermath of Ombaste cult attack on Assakio and Obi local Government area has worsen as some of the displaced resident of the two towns now in a refugee camp In neighboring Namu development area of Quan-Pan local government area of Plateau State complained bitterly when Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura visited the camp Friday.

The Governor who visited to console the displaced people over the attack on Assakio by the outlawed Ombatse militia group said that the state government will ensure that it will do all it need to do so that the refugee can go back to their homes. He said government has provided adequate security to protect the lives of the displaced people.

But while reacting to the governor,spokeman of the Assakio community in the camp who addressed the governor and his entourage said live in the camp is terrible and difficult but said the prefer to remain in the camp rather than go back to meet their death in the hand of the Ombaste cult.

Some of the displaced people lament over their conditions while calling on the governor to provide relief material to them.
