Obama to meet Palestinian, Nigerian, Lebanese leaders at UN
U.S. President Barack Obama is to meet next week at the United Nations with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, the White House said on Friday,
Obama is to focus his address to the General Assembly on the Middle East and North Africa, laying out the U.S. approach and policy forward, the White House said in a press preview of his trip to the UN.
Obama will also urge the international society to stand strongly against the use of chemical weapons, calling on the Security Council to adopt a resolution on Syrian chemical weapons, it said.
The White House also said Obama will talk about the Middle East peace process and the Iran nuclear issue.
