RCCG Convention: Adeboye assures participants of major turning point

BARELY 24 hours after its Ministers’ Conference attended by pastors drawn from across the globe in preparation for the 61st annual convention, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has perfected plans to host millions of persons at the yearly spiritual fiesta.
The purpose of the Ministers Conference, according to the General Overseer, is to equip and recharge every minister for the great task of reaching the world that the Lord has graciously given to the church.
The convention, like the ministers conference, is scheduled for the sprawling Redemption Camp of the church along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and the quintessential erstwhile mathematics lecturer has enjoined every genuine seeker of the one and only true God who can do the miraculous to take advantage of the annual week long event.

Adeboye said the programme themed; ‘Jesus’, is specially packaged at great expense for the benefit of persons who want God to change them and make them true seekers of righteousness.
In his welcome address to the multitude of worshippers expected at the event, Pastor Adeboye said: “It is with great joy in the holy Glory that we welcome you to the 61st Convention with the theme: JESUS. The person and work of Jesus is central to Christianity. His birth marked the turning point in history. An encounter with him in this convention will surely mark a significant turning point in your lives. Jesus is the link to answered prayers.
“He said whatever we ask in His name, He will give it to us (John 14:13). Therefore, spend quality time in prayers during this convention. The only genuine way to salvation is through Jesus (John 14:6; Act 4:12). He will show you the way out of trouble; open the door of breakthrough to you; and lead you into eternal bliss. All you need is ensure you surrender your life to Him,” he assured.
Continuing, Pastor Adeboye said: “Jesus is called “Wonder-ful” (Isaiah 9:6) which implies that He is full of wonders and does wonders. He has done many wonders before like turning water to wine (John 2:1-10); feeding 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fishes (Matthew 14:15-21).
“This convention is going to be loaded with signs and wonders from the very beginning to the end. Release your faith and you will be a recipient of His wonders. As the Great physician, Jesus will cure the incurable as the Lord of hosts; He will deliver the captives from captivity. As the master builder, He will build lives and destinies. As the great provider, He’s going to glory Himself in lives and cause us to begin to reign.
“This is one convention we will not forget in a hurry. Be focused, prayerful, determined not to leave the same way you came, avoid any sinful acts and don’t miss any of the sessions. Be a good imitator of Jesus Christ. Thanksgiving was His way of life; He gave thanks before feeding 5,000 people and before calling Lazarus out from the grave.
“Thank God with passion throughout this convention and you will go home praising the Lord. Once again, we welcome you to a life trans-forming convention where Jesus will move like never before. God bless you,” Adeboye stated.
He maintained that this year’s convention is very unique and very special, because only those who are hungry for God, those who really want God to change their lives from inside out, are invited.
“Anyone who is not seriously seeking God, who is not hungry for God and thirsty for His righteousness, should not even bother to come because this year’s convention is going to be for those who want God to change them from inside out,” Adeboye said.
As early as 8.30 a.m. today thousands of candidates for ordination to the office of deacons and deaconesses are expected to assemble for the commencement of the anoint-ing for service in the fast grow-ing church.
According to the programme of the convention, there will be meetings of House Fellowship leaders and workers at 8.30 p.m. alongside a meeting of the church council.
