NOT AGAIN!! Nigerian student nabbed in Cavite drug bust

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday arrested a Nigerian student in a buy-bust operation in Cavite.

The suspect, 24 year-old college student Kingsley Ezeobi, was arrested with 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in barangay Barangay Maderan, General Mariano Alvarez town.

Ezeobi is a suspected member of the West African Drug Syndicate, which has been tagged as responsible for a series of drug smuggling incidents in the Philippines.

PDEA Region 4-A (Calabarzon) Director Adzhar Albani said the arrest of Ezeobi should serve as a warning to other drug syndicates.

He said the agency is determined to eradicate all drug groups in the country.

The Nigerian national, now detained at the PDEA Calabarzon headquarters, will not be deported yet as he is will have to face the drug charges filed against him.

He is facing charges of violating Article 2, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
