TYPE OF CONTEST: Debate Contest

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Abuja Grassroots Youth Debaters is an initiative of Youngstars Foundation to mark International Youth Day, 2013. Powered by the Office of the Snr. Special Assistant to The President on Youth and Students' Matters,  The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy Abuja, Konrad Group Inc, Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth & Advancement (YIAGA) and STEP C. Are you a youth residing in any of the Abuja Area Councils? Do you have good debating skills? Can you stand on the Platform and make your points count? This is your chance to win any of the prizes below:


ELIGIBILITY: Youths between the ages of 18 and 30 resident in Abuja, Nigeria.

RULES AND REGULATIONS: Debate Topic: Education and Not Electricity is the Key to National Transformation.

1st Prize  -   N100,000
2nd Prize -   N60,000
3rd Prize  -   N40,000

Bonanza: The 3 winners shall visit the American Embassy in Abuja on a courtesy visit!

HOW TO APPLY: To Participate: Send an SMS with your name and location with the phrase "Ready to Debate to 08098333348 or 07035535876. Registration Fee: N1,000 (to be paid on the day of audition).
Academy: Successful candidates shall attend a 1 day Free training on debating skills on August 8th.
Debate commences by 3pm-6pm daily from  August 12th to August 15th 2013, at Youngstars Foundation, 36 First Avenue, F.H.A, Lugbe, Abuja.
