West Ham target Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike.
West Ham are poised to make a move for Spartak Moscow striker Emmanuel Emenike.
Sam Allardyce is keen to bring another forward to the club after Carlton Cole left Upton Park during the summer.
The West Ham manager was hoping to clinch the signing of Salomon Kalou from Lille, but the former Chelsea forward turned down the move as he could not be guaranteed a place at centre forward.
Allardyce is now hoping he has more joy with Emenike who was the star performer for Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations back in January when he finished top scorer in the tournament with four goals.
Reports in Russia suggest that West Ham are set to open talks with Spartak Moscow over a move for the 26-year-old.
But the Russian club will be looking for at least £8m for their star forward who joined them from Fenerbahce back in 2011.
