GOODNEWS: Vodafone announces free Twitter access for all subscribers
Vodafone today announced it is offering free Twitter access to both its postpaid and prepaid subscribers in India. The offer is applicable till November 1 and will enable its subscribers to access the official Twitter app or Twitter’s mobile website (mobile.twitter.com) for free. The free access is not applicable for accessing Twitter via third-party apps or clicking links on tweets that takes the user to external websites.
This is not the first time Twitter has tied up with an Indian carrier. Earlier Twitter had a similar tie-up with RCom. Under the Vodafone offer, users using ‘portalnmms’ APN will have to change it to ‘www’ to avail the offer. For some unknown reason, the free access is not applicable to BlackBerry users.
Vodafone subscribers won’t have to do anything to avail the free Twitter access. The carrier’s website gives an impression that Vodafone won’t charge for any traffic coming from Twitter’s official app or from its mobile website.
The free access is not applicable for accessing Twitter via third-party apps or clicking links on tweets that takes the user to external websites.
