FEMALE STUDENT CHARGED WITH STEALING SUITOR’S N300,000
The court was told that the accused is an undergraduate at Ecole Supreme Management University in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Ekundayo, Uzo, who resides at Abati Barrack, Surulere, Lagos, committed the act on Oct. 17, at No. 16 Abata Street, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos.
Ekundayo said the money belonged to Mr Ifeanyi Aneke, in whose home the offence was allegedly committed.
He told the court that Aneke invited the accused to his house, and that he discovered that the money was missing after she left.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Criminal Code of Lagos State. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Olajuwon, granted her bail for N100,000 with a surety.
Olajuwon ordered that the surety must be gainfully employed and with verifiable address.
The case was adjourned to Dec. 20 for mention.
