FRSC to apprehend car owners with old number plates from October 1st
The FRSC in Oyo State on Wednesday vowed that motorists driving vehicles with old number plates would be apprehended and prosecuted as from October 1, 2013.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the state’s Sector Commander, Mr Godwin Ogagaoghene, said the validity of the old number plates would expire on September 30, 2013.
“I can assure you that from the first day in October, car owners still going about with the old number plates would be apprehended for violating the order.
“The cost of changing over from existing old number plates to the new is cheaper than if you are to obtain fresh number plates for cars that are to be newly registered.
“I, therefore, urge the public to ensure that they change over to the new number plates before October 1,” he said.
